A Nightmare on Elm Street

Posted by themobilemarketeer on May 4, 2010

Movie releases are obvious contenders for mobile advertising. With excellent content ready made by the studios all that needss to be done is to convert the content to mobile specs and away you go. This example for A Nightmare on Elm Street is by no means the best but it is simple and effective.

The ad

Tapping on the ad opens an AdMob drop down ad unit where customers can tap to watch the trailer or they can tap to join the Facebook group.

Drop down ad

The great thing about this ad unit is that everything happens within the original appp so the customer can simply tap “DONE” and go back to the page they were on when they saw the ad.

Holiday Inn drives reservations via mobile

Posted by themobilemarketeer on May 4, 2010

It’s good to see that the hotel industry is starting to take note of the opportunities offered by mobile marketing. They are currently running a campaign on AdMob promoting a 35% discount on weekend stays.

Holiday Inn 35% discount ad

Unfortunately the ad didn’t link to anything when I clicked on it. I would imagine that it would link to a landing page with more info on the promotion and a click to call button so that customers can immediately book their hotel room.
