The world’s biggest, interactive, signpost

Posted by themobilemarketeer on February 3, 2010

Nokia recently created the world’s biggest signpost in London and, here’s the cool bit, enabled people to text in any location and the sign would point in that direction and show how far away it was.

The sign was located near London’s Tower Bridge and was hoisted high in the air from a crane so it could be seen from all around. The interactive sign was complemented by a website that increased the reach of the campaign and enabled people all over the world to move the sign.

The sign was powered by Ovi Maps (Nokia’s mapping service that is powered by Navteq) and was a great way of raising awareness. It also showd people that maps can be used for so much more than just navigation, they can be fun too. Of course, Nokia has since made Ovi Maps turn-by-turn directions available, free of charge, to all of their customers.

Check out this video to see the sign in action.
